1-Explore different beaches

What impresses you as soon as you arrive in the village of Ksamil is the opportunity to choose between several spectacular beaches that complement each other. It is well known that each of us has a certain version of the blue or blue of the sea that he likes more than the other versions. On the beaches of Ksamil you will be able to find exactly that sea tonality that you have dreamed of so much during the other days of the year, accompanied by clean and warm sand.

 

2- Visit the 4 islands of Ksamil

All the while the small boats leave and come with beachgoers who choose to rest for a few hours on the fairytale islands which are four in total, but where the twin islands of Ksamil stand out. These islands are so named because they are connected to each other by a narrow strip of sand, to create an indescribable sensation of where you are at the junction of two different sea shores. Thanks to the perfect tranquility and dense vegetation of the islands, even though very close to the inhabited areas it looks like you are in some tropical paradise from which you will not leave.

4- Visit Butrint National Park.

The 2500-year-old ruins of Butrint have always been an attraction for tourists. The archeological site of Butrint is quite large, with about 200 hectares. All the main attractions are on the nearest hill of the entrance gate. You should plan a visit that may take about three hours. Maybe an hour less if you do not want to walk along the outer wall to reach the Lion Gate, although this walk has the most beautiful views. The monuments of Butrinit reflect its rich history, it includes ancient ruins dating from Greek and Roman times covering the period from the VIII century BC to the XVI century AD, ie more than two millennia.

 

5-Visit the Monastery of St. George

The St. George Monastery complex consists of a church reconstructed in the 14th century AD, located within the walls of a monastery complex.

Its location at the top of the Monastery hill offers a stunning view of the Ionian Sea to the west and Butrint Lake to the east.

The main area includes the prehistoric ruins of the Bull Fortress Wall.

 

6-Visit the Castle of Leather

Lëkurës Castle overlooks the city of Saranda and the view from it is really wonderful! The fortress has regular planimetry with towers guarding its wings. The castle has been rebuilt to recover the signs of old age and has been reinforced to withstand the future. In the defensive fortress dating back to the 16th century, there once stood soldiers defending the beginnings of the establishment of the Ottoman Empire in this southern part of Albania.

 

7-Visit the Monastery of 40 Saints

Opposite the bay where the castle of Lëkurës stands, there are traces of a Byzantine monastery, known as the Monastery of the 40 Saints, dominant with its history and folklore that closely connect it with the history of Saranda. The church has a unique structure, which unfortunately was irreparably damaged during the bombings of World War II. The tourist destination is easily accessible from the city by car, just a few kilometers from the main promenade.

 

8-Visit the Blue Eye

Very few kilometers away from Ksamil, is located under a natural pool in the shape of an eye, where the depth of about 50 meters (at least so they say, as the true depth still remains unproven, even after the dives of the bravest), offers a spectacle colors which are usually reserved only for precious stones.

The Blue Eye is deep, in all senses of the word. The extraordinary colors that shine even brighter under the Mediterranean sun, the beautiful gurgling of fresh water, and the greenery that accompanies the entire fountain, create the feeling that you are in the Garden of Eden, or any exotic place you could have imagined.

 

9-Mussel Tour

A fantastic experience on Butrint Lake.

The "Mussel Tour" offers tourists the opportunity to explore the wonderful nature of Butrint Lake, as well as to learn more about the growth and cultivation of mussels, the queen of this lake.

In addition to observing you will learn how to cook mussels and taste them.
